ΤΕΤΤΤΙΞ ensemble
2017 was the birth of ensemble TETTTIΞ. Michalis Paraskakis gathered fellow musicians to form a new ensemble in Athens, dedicated to New Music. Most of its members have lived and studied in The Netherlands, where there is an active scene on contemporary music.
ΤΕΤΤΤΙΞ has a unique combination of instruments: flute, clarinet, bassoon, piano, accordion, percussion, harp, guitar and double bass. Main concern of the ensemble is to create repertoire for its unique forces by commissioning works from young composers. While it will perform new works and contemporary ‘classics’, its performances will include also music from all the spectrum: jazz, pop, classical, traditional and others.
The ensemble functions as a team and all its members are active in many of the needs.
TETTTIΞ’s life began officially in May 2018 with its first performance in ZP68 in the centre of Athens. Since then it has performed in the Onassis Cultural Centre (Athens) with ‘Ambient Pressure’, a grand spectacle of music and light, including music from Brian Eno and Giacinto Scelsi. Its third performance took place in TV Center Control (Athens). It has also participated in the last feature film of director Nikos Kornilios.
